Halloween 2009

Another Halloween come and gone! We are getting very good at recycling costumes: Lydia was Ashley's bat costume and Natalie was a 50's girl. Mandy was unique this year being a puppy. She turned out to be an adorable "spot" and everyone oooohhhed at her cuteness! Benjamin was as consistent with his costume as he is at staying at the table during mealtime. For the days preceding Halloween he was Tigger. Then for the school parade he wore his Frog (the main costume) but then for the party and trick or treating he was a dinosaur that we'd got at the thrift store. Lucky for him he is cute regardless of what he wears!=)

Soccer is in full force with Taylor's team making a stronger showing lately with a couple of wins. Taylor has had some football conflicts, but seems to still be a valuable contributor to his soccer team. He has scored at many of the games and plays as much as anyone. Lydia's team has been similar, with a slow start to the season, but doing a little better. She is a very valuable defender with a keen sense of positioning. Very few forwards get past her. Natalie is a super player, scoring more goals than anyone on her team. Grant is her coach and she loves playing with several friends from girl scouts or school.

Taylor's tackle football team, the Arcadia Indians, are doing awful since their star quarterback, Zach Yee, got hurt. They get killed most games and Taylor, being a receiver, doesn't see much action anymore. They tried him as QB for a bit along with a couple of other boys, but now play the QB's little brother, Josh Yee.
Taylor is playing quarterback for his Foothills flag football team and they started out struggling due to the loss of Zach there as well, but are doing better every game. Their last game they played Duarte, who had only lost once, and they ended up playing terrific and winning! It is really fun to watch him!

Ashley has been in prepare mode lately: preparing for her drivers test and joining 24 hour fitness to swim before joining the high school swim team next semester. She has really grown up this last year. She just gets more and more ready to be independent...I know she can't wait until she can drive herself everywhere.
